Open Casting Calls for Disney Movie “Moana” in Hawaii

Would you love to land a small role in a Disney movie? Well, if you live in Hawaii, here is your chance to get a small part on the set of “Moana.”

The Disney production has two open casting calls scheduled for their live action Moana movie in Honolulu and Haleiwa in July. Disney’s live-action “Moana” will be filming in various locations in Hawaii this summer. Disney’s “Moana” movie is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2025.

Alessi Hartigan Casting is the extras casting director on this project in Hawaii and they are looking for paid background extras who would love to come out for a day and possibly be cast in a small, non speaking background role.

Moana” is a heartwarming film produced by Walt Disney Studios. The original animated version of the Disney movie was released in 2016. The new Disney Pictures project is a live action movie with a tentative release date in summer of 2025.

Moana” tells the story of a young Polynesian princess named Moana who embarks on a courageous journey to save her people and discover her true identity. Motivated by a deep connection to the ocean and a desire to explore beyond the confines of her island, Moana sets sail on a daring adventure with the demigod Maui. Together, they encounter mythical creatures, face treacherous obstacles, and learn valuable lessons about identity, self-discovery, and the importance of preserving one’s culture and heritage. “Moana” is not only visually stunning, with breathtaking animation and vibrant landscapes, but it also features a powerful and inspiring soundtrack that showcases the talents of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa’i.

The two open casting calls for Disney’s “Moana” will take place on July 15 and 16. There will be an open call in Honolulu and another in Haleiwa.

All are welcome to come out to the open call to meet with the extras casting team.

Open Calls in Hawaii:

Honolulu: Susannah Wesley Community Center
July 15: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Haleiwa (North Shore): Waialua Community Association
July 16: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

All ages are welcome and there are also some featured roles up for grabs. The open calls are for locals to play villagers in the movie.

All roles are paid.
