“Caligula” is a drama by Albert Camus. The story delves into the psyche of one of history’s most infamous Roman emperors.  This thought-provoking play explores the transformation of Caligula from a young ruler to a tyrannical figure consumed by absolute power. The story unfolds as Caligula grapples with existential crises following the death of his sister, Drusilla. As he descends into madness, Caligula’s rule becomes arbitrary and ruthless, devoid of justice or morality.

Mistress Casonia: Looking for an actress to portray Casonia, Caligula’s mistress. Must convey shock and concern as she witnesses Caligula’s transformation and grapples with his descent into madness.
Scene Description:

The scene is from Act 1, where Caligula, reeling from the death of his sister Drusilla, experiences a profound crisis. He returns from three days of solitude with a newfound belief in absolute power, disregarding justice and law. His mistress, Casonia, observes his distress and questions his morality as he descends into madness.
