“Wednesday” is back in production for the new 2024/2025 season and the show is filming in Ireland. Yes, Ireland. Actually quite a few shows filmed in Ireland including the popular HBO series Game of Thrones.
The popular Netflix series combines elements of coming-of-age, supernatural, comedy, and horror genres, which is, of course, inspired by the iconic character Wednesday Addams from Charles Addams’ universe. Conceived by creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show features Jenna Ortega in the lead role as Wednesday Addams, alongside an ensemble cast which includes Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, and Christina Ricci, among others. Notably, Tim Burton, known for his unique visual style and storytelling, directs four episodes of the first season and serves as an executive producer.

As a giveaway by the show’s name, “Wednesday,” the series follows Wednesday Addams as a teen Wednesday is thrown into a new school environment and finds herself with a murder mystery that she is looking into.
Following a mischievous retaliation against bullies tormenting her brother Pugsley, Wednesday Addams finds herself expelled from school. In response, her unconventional parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams, decide to enroll her at Nevermore Academy. Located in the peculiar town of Jericho, Vermont, this exclusive institution caters to monstrous outcasts like Wednesday. Despite her chilly demeanor and rebellious tendencies, Wednesday struggles to connect with her fellow students, drawing the ire of the school’s stern principal, Larissa Weems. However, she soon discovers her inherited psychic abilities, inherited from her mother, Morticia.
The new season of Netflix’s Wednesday will be filming in Ireland beginning this month and the show’s extras casting at Celtic Casting are looking for locals to work as paid background actors on the set of Wednesday.
