Filming of Steph Curry’s new show is starting in the Chicago, Illinois area, and the extras casting directors for “Mr. Throwback” are on the lookout for locals to the area who have time to work on set, to work on this production.
NBC and Peacock have given the green light to “Mr. Throwback,” a basketball-themed mockumentary comedy featuring NBA star Steph Curry and Adam Pally. The show, created by “Happy Endings” creator David Caspe and writers Matthew Libman and Daniel Libman, is set to join the ranks of beloved mockumentaries like “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” on the streaming platform. In “Mr. Throwback,” a struggling memorabilia dealer seeks redemption by reconnecting with his former sixth-grade teammate, NBA legend Steph Curry. The series is created and executive produced by David Caspe, the Libman brothers, Adam Pally, Steph Curry, and Unanimous Media’s Erick Peyton. Stay tuned for more casting calls for extras!

Casting notice for Mr. Throwback on Peacock/NBC in Chicago.
Mr. Throwback – General Availability Form & Miscellaneous Roles.
We’re collecting submissions for Week 3 of Mr. Throwback.
This submission form is for general background roles, which means they’re open to any gender, ethnicity, ages 9 and older. Any children ages 15 and younger will need a minor work permit. We’ll reach out on an individual basis if we don’t have a permit on file for your child. **We only have 1 day (with limited spots) for kids this upcoming week, which is Tuesday 5/21, and it films in Wheeling, IL.
General background roles pay $126.40/8 for adults, $155/8 for children, and $176/8 for stand ins and photo doubles. The pay rate is a flat rate for any time worked up to 8 hours (it is not an hourly rate), with time + 1/2 after 8 hours. If we book you with your vehicle to be parked on set, there will be a $35 bump added to your pay. No red or white vehicles, please.

-AVAILABLE DATES: Please list all available dates between Monday 5/20 and Friday 5/24. We do not film on weekends (M-F only).
Miscellaneous roles:
SUBJECT LINE: WHEELING SPORTS
ROLE: We are looking for kids ages 9-12, boys and girls, any ethnicity, to play basketball at a community center park. In addition, we’re also looking for parents, a coach, referee, etc. Please note that this scene films in Wheeling, IL which is in the north suburbs. You must have your own transportation to this location.
FILMING: Tuesday 5/21
PAY: $126.40/8 (adults), $155/8 (9-12 years old)
SUBJECT LINE: MOB LACKEY
ROLE: We are looking for a couple Caucasian men to play the “lackeys” of a mob boss. Open to ages 40s-60s. Tentatively this shoots Weds 5/22 and Fri 5/24, although we do ask that you have open/flexible availability when submitting for this role, as the date may change.
WARDROBE FITTING: TBD
FILMING: Weds 5/22 and Fri 5/24 (TBD)
PAY: $126.40/8 (each day) + one-time $25 fitting bump (if applicable)
SUBJECT LINE: MORGUE BODY
ROLE: We are looking for a Caucasian male in his 30s or 40s to play a dead body in the morgue. You will be shirtless and have SPFX makeup applied to you so that you look pale/deceased.
Ideally we are looking for a male WITHOUT TATTOOS. If you do have a tattoo somewhere on your upper body (waist up), please indicate where and send a photo of it.
FILMING: Friday 5/24
PAY: $185/8
SUBJECT LINE: CURRY PHOTO DOUBLE
ROLE: We are looking for an African American male, roughly 6’2″ / 180s, athletic physique, in his 20s-40s to work as a photo double for Steph Curry. You should have very similar skin tone, hair style and facial hair. Please see photo below for reference.
Filming dates are still TBD. Please make sure you have open/flexible availability during the dates below in order to submit and be considered.
FILMING: Potentially the week of Tues 5/28 – Fri 5/31 OR Mon 6/3 – Fri 6/7.
