College Community Theatre announces auditions for Anne of Green Gables.
College Community Theatre is in search of local actors to join the cast of its upcoming production of “Anne of Green Gables.”
Auditions will take place on Monday and Tuesday, March 18th and 19th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bob Clapp Theatre located at Blue Mountain Community College, 2411 NW Carden Ave., Pendleton.
There are a total of 11 roles available.
Peter DeLaurier’s adaptation of L.M. Montgomery’s cherished novel, “Anne of Green Gables,” introduces audiences to the spirited orphan, Anne Shirley. Plucked from an orphanage in Nova Scotia, Anne finds herself in the care of Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert of Avonlea.
Their expectation of a quiet, helpful boy is shattered when Anne arrives—a fiery-haired, freckle-faced force of nature who injects unexpected energy into their lives. As Anne navigates the challenges of school, forms friendships, and discovers life’s intricacies in Avonlea, her endearing journey unfolds in this heartwarming coming-of-age narrative.
This play (no singing) is a glimpse into the series of the same name by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and was adapted by playwright Peter DeLaurier.
NOTE: Auditions are open. While the ages of the actors would preferably be similar to the characters in the book, we are open to older/younger actors being cast in some of the roles. Click here to see a list of roles and to access audition materials.
