The WALT DISNEY Studios is holding auditions / casting for dancers of all ages for the upcoming Disney movie Moana.

Disney movie Moana is filming in Los Angeles and open Disney auditions will be held shortly for trained dancers of all ages to play Pacific Islanders. These are paid principal roles that pay $3000+ weekly and the auditions are open to strong dancers which have dance training or experience in Polynesian dance techniques..

The movie was filming last year in Hawaii and like other movies and shows, the was delayed in production due to the entertainment industry strikes. Seems that filming on Disney’s “Moana” is resuming.

“Moana,” is an upcoming live action movie being produced by Walt Disney Studios. Moana originally debuted as an animated film in 2016. Now, Disney Pictures brings a new rendition to the screen, set to release as a live-action adaptation tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2025.

This enchanting tale follows the journey of Moana, a spirited Polynesian princess, as she embarks on a courageous quest to save her people and uncover her true identity. Fueled by her deep connection to the ocean and an insatiable curiosity to explore beyond her island’s shores, Moana sets sail on a daring adventure alongside the charismatic demigod, Maui. Together, they encounter mythical beings, navigate perilous challenges, and glean profound insights into the essence of self-discovery, cultural heritage, and personal growth.

“Moana” captivates not only with its stunning visuals and exotic Polynesian themed locations which showcase the nature and vibrant landscapes on that side of the world, but also with its soul-stirring soundtrack. The original Moana had a soundtrack composed by the remarkable talents of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa’i.

Los Angeles Auditions for Polynesian Dancers in the upcoming Disney Feature Film, MOANA!

[DANCERS/VILLAGERS] Looking for trained dancers to play villagers of all ages, any gender, Pacific Islander. Dancers should be trained and versatile in “Polynesian dance.” All ages encouraged to apply. Specialists encouraged to apply. STRONG DANCE SKILLS REQUIRED.

The range for this weekly role is between $3,105.00-$3,725.00 per week.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is the producer/employer for this production and is signatory to the SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreement, therefore SAG-AFTRA salary terms apply. The amount offered and paid for each role will depend on factors including but not limited to, engagement length, production location, budgetary considerations and the actor’s experience and prominence.
