Casting directors for HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones” are seeking paid extras from the Charleston area.
This is for the show’s upcoming season 4 filming in 2024/2025. HBO’s series is gearing up for production and the casting team for the show is working on getting their database together of Charleston locals who have the time to work on set as paid background in the series. This show is set in the world of Mega Churches, so they are searching to cast many who can play the Gemstone’s flock when needed. These are paid background roles and casting directors are now asking those in the Charleston area who are interested, add their name to the list of available extras. More specific roles normally get announced as filming gets on the way and more specific needs get released.

Gemstones was created by Danny McBride who also stars in the show. “The Righteous Gemstones” is a dark comedy series set in the world of evangelical mega churches, following the dysfunctional Gemstone family as they navigate greed, power struggles, and scandals within their ministry empire.
Starring John Goodman as patriarch Eli Gemstone, alongside Danny McBride, Edi Patterson, and Adam Devine, the show delves into the family’s ambitions and less-than-godly behaviors hidden from their congregation.
