A short film that centers around Justice, a young African American girl, who faces an internal battle between wanting looser textured hair and struggling to love and style her type 4 natural hair. With the encouragement of her dad, Damien, who is a single father, Justice now has the inspiration and motivation to love and style her hair.
*FILMING IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA*
Justice
Lead, Black, Female, 12-15 years old
Playful and resourceful. Willing to allow her natural hair to be done on camera by the father actor. Has type 4 natural hair longer than 5 inches
Damien
Supporting, Black, Male, Mid 30s-40s
Works with type 4 natural hair or is extremely proficient and gentle with hair. Caring and kind with playful comedic timing and ability to improvise. Has short hard or is bald.
Pay Rate: Unpaid BUT will receive reel footage/credit, a free headshot, free natural hair care products and food will be provided!
