About “The Prom” – In the heart of a small town, anticipation buzzes through the air as students eagerly prepare for the most anticipated event of the year: “The Prom.”

Set against a backdrop of colorful decorations and twinkling lights, the stage comes alive with the infectious energy of young love, friendship, and self-discovery. Amidst the chaos of corsages and tuxedos, a group of outsiders finds themselves thrust into the spotlight when they take a stand for acceptance and inclusion. As the evening unfolds, secrets are revealed, relationships tested, and barriers shattered, all underscored by a soundtrack of catchy tunes and heartfelt ballads.

Through laughter and tears, “The Prom” reminds us that sometimes the most magical moments can arise from the unlikeliest of circumstances, and that love truly knows no bounds.

People of all races, ethnicities, abilities/disabilities, and sexual/gender identities welcome
and encouraged to audition. There are also Swing and Understudy tracks available.

Broadway diva. A huge ego to match her huge talent. Hilariously self-involved but yearns to do something good for someone other than herself.

Flamboyant Broadway star. Completely politically incorrect and doesn’t know it. Longs to give Emma the prom he was unable to have as a teen.

WHAT TO PREPARE

32 bars of a song that matches the style of the show but NOT from the show.
Accompanist will be provided. Music should be clearly marked in a binder and memorized.
Cold readings will be provided from the script.
There will be a dance audition. Please bring comfortable clothes to change into and appropriate dance shoes or sneakers)
