The Manistee Civic Players are thrilled to invite talented individuals to audition for our upcoming spring production of “Don’t Hug Me.”
Written by Phil Olson, this charming “Minnesota love story with singin’ and stuff” promises plenty of laughter to thaw your winter blues!
Seeking actors to fill the following roles:
- Clara Johnson: Gunner’s wife and co-owner of The Bunyan bar. She’s a strong-willed character who has been married to Gunner for quite some time.
- Gunner Johnson: Clara’s husband and co-owner of The Bunyan. He’s a strong-willed North woods personality, reminiscent of Archie Bunker.
- Bernice Lundstrom: The pretty, young, dreamy waitress at The Bunyan.
- Aarvid Gisselsen: A slick, fast-talking Karaoke salesman, akin to a North woods “Music Man.”
- Kanter Gunderson: An oblivious, full-of-himself business owner, and Bernice’s fiancé.
Auditions will take place at 406 Second Street, adjacent to the Church of the Holy Trinity in Manistee. Dates and times for auditions are as follows:
Sunday, February 25th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Tuesday, February 27th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Performance dates for the production are scheduled for April 26th, 27th, 28th, and May 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
