Theater Auditions in San Diego Area for “Mass Appeal”

Open Auditions in Vista California for play “Mass Appeal”

Nominated for two 1981 Tony Awards!
This brilliantly funny yet compassionate play explores the conflict between an established older priest, (Father Farley), and the impassioned young seminarian, (Mark Dolson), who challenges the validity of his well-routined regimen. While the subjects they discuss can, at times, be very serious, the conflict between thr older, staid priest and the young firebrand is hilarious and heart warming. “One of those very rare plays which not only entertains but also educates.” – The Hollywood Reporter.

One Sunday, seminarian Mark Dolson interrupts Farley’s sermon to challenge his stance on the ordination of women. The pastor is outraged yet intrigued by the young man, and asks to have him assigned to work with him. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Mark Dolson – Male. 20-29
Catholic Seminarian. He is eager to change the Catholic Church. He enjoys attacking Farley’s “song and dance theology” and questioning why he drinks so much. Feels it’s his job to shake parishioners out of their complacency. Father Farley likes Dolson, but sees that he’ll never succeed as a priest if all he does is irritate people and make enemies.
