“Let’s Kill Agatha Christie” by Anthony Hinds (Season 4th May – 8th June)
Looking for an ensemble of nine characters (English accent preferred) for the Sydney première of this hilarious mystery comedy, directed by Gregory George.

Character descriptions:
Prudence Sykes: an eccentric, insufferable novelist who thinks she is the next Agatha Christie – she isn’t. She has inherited a lot of money, so is not concerned with her lack of success, but thinking that she has talent, she believes she is entitled to the fame that she seeks. This is a physical role, as she falls to the ground and is placed into a body sized chest. She will also have to quickly get in and out of this chest, unseen by the audience.

  • Tombs: A sinister, droll butler with dead pan humour. This is someone with a strong stage presence, as he breaks the fourth wall and occasionally acknowledges the audience.
  • Gladys: The maid, she is dim witted and frumpy. Rough around the edges and prone to feinting and sleep-walking. This is a physical role, as she falls to the ground and carries multiple suitcases. Cockney accent.
  • Sir Fredrick Belting: A self made millionaire. He is loud, confident and likes his drink. This is a physical role, as he will assist in lifting an unconscious body into a chest as well as falling down stairs.
  • John Harvey-Miles: A vain, fading film star. He is timid and sarcastic but loves to be the centre of attention. This role requires someone that is good with slapstick, has excellent comic timing and can expertly control props. It is also a physical role, as he will assist in lifting an unconscious body into a chest, as well as a bit of cross-dressing.
  • Marjory Field: The precocious hard-boiled investigative journalist. She has a soft and pleasant demeanour that hides her tough and fast-thinking nature.
  • Angela Teal: Secretary and personal assistant to Ms Sykes. She is patient, sweet and intelligent.
  • Inspector Harringay: A mysterious person that is suspicious of everyone.
  • PC Crockett: A well-spoken policeman who is a little clumsy and uncoordinated.
