Sugar Cane tells the story of an African-American teen still mourning her late mother while struggling to find her place in the family as her father’s new Trinidadian wife moves in. The production plans to film over four days in September in the Atlanta area. While roles are unpaid, the filmmakers emphasize that this is a collaborative, welcoming team—perfect for actors looking to expand their experience, build their resumes, and take on compelling characters.
