Auditions This Saturday in Mableton for Sugar Cane
Atlanta-area actors have a chance to join an emotionally powerful short film, Sugar Cane, with auditions taking place this Saturday in Mableton, GA.
Sugar Cane tells the story of an African-American teen still mourning her late mother while struggling to find her place in the family as her father’s new Trinidadian wife moves in. The story explores themes of grief, identity, and cultural tension, offering a rich and nuanced narrative for performers looking to take on meaningful roles.
The production plans to film over four days in September in the Atlanta area. While roles are unpaid, the filmmakers emphasize that this is a collaborative, welcoming team—perfect for actors looking to expand their experience, build their resumes, and take on compelling characters. Both experienced and inexperienced performers are encouraged to audition, and there are also many non-speaking roles available.
Interested actors should send headshots in advance and can reach out via email at claudeparkfilms@gmail.com for more details or to express interest.
