Love, death and duchamp: a retrospective
Location: London, UK
Audition / Call Type: Films
An experimental short film on the effects of a cancer diagnosis on a relationship. Being produced for the London Screen Academy and directed by Marcelo Seguí Gill, whose previous directorial debut won at Brighton Rocks. Inspired by the writing of Borges and Raymond Carver and the studies of Vila-Matas.
This film is an exploration of the psychodynamics between two characters coming to terms with preemptive grief. The relationship struggles after one of them is diagnosed with breast cancer, causing a withdrawal in an attempt to protect their partner. These tough subjects are approached through a combination of raw, unfiltered dialogue and existential surrealism.
Despite being a no-budget production, we will cover travel expenses and ensure you are well fed and taken care of.
We are a small but passionate team who are strongly committed to telling this powerful and personal story on love and grief.
