Casting Call for Short Film “Greener” – A Story About Eco-Anxiety
Filming Dates: August 9–10, 2025
Location: Los Angeles, likely in the West LA area
The upcoming short film Greener is currently seeking a passionate and diverse cast in Los Angeles for this indie film project. Centered on a young woman grappling with eco-anxiety, Greener explores her emotional journey as she confronts relentless pressure from two opinionated strangers and searches for a way to reclaim her peace.
This is a low-budget independent project with a planned runtime of approximately 10 minutes. The film will be shot entirely outdoors, and some scenes will involve running sequences, so performers should be comfortable with light physical activity.
The project is seeking performers who are excited about telling authentic, character-driven stories and who care deeply about the themes of the film. If selected for consideration, you will be contacted with audition details.

Roles:
- Remy (Main Role, Age: 18-25): A young woman with eco-anxiety who struggles with perfectionism. She finds it difficult to be vulnerable, but deep down, wants to be seen and appreciated. She uses sass to hide her fear that her environmental efforts are pointless. This character will partake in a few running sequences.
- The Woman (Main Role, Age: 25-35): A seemingly put together woman whose poise can instantly shift to malice. She appears flawless, but is critical and passive aggressive. There is a subtle uncanniness to her. This character will partake in a few running sequences.
- The Man (Main Role, Age: 25-35): A man who has lost hope for the future of our planet. His sarcasm and nonchalance conceal his despair. Now jaded, he approaches environmentalism with flippancy. There is a subtle uncanniness to him. This character will partake in a few running sequences.
- Rachel (Bit Part, Age: 18-25): An extroverted young woman who is empathetic, curious and open to trying new things.
- Carson (Bit Part, Age: 18-25): A reserved, creative young man who has a niche interest in insects. Him and Remy share a touching moment.
Main roles will receive a stipend and free meals.
Bit Parts will receive a gift card and free meals.
