New Rap/Poetic Musical Explores Harriet Tubman’s First Marriage – Staged Reading Concert in Los Feliz
Playwright and composer Terrell M. Green, M.S. is bringing a bold new vision to the stage with a rap/poetic musical that dives into the rarely told story of Harriet Tubman’s first marriage. This staged reading concert will be presented at the Impro Theatre in Los Feliz on Thursday, November 13, with performances at 7 PM and 9 PM.
The production combines spoken word, rap, and music to reimagine the life and love of one of history’s most courageous figures. With a focus on Harriet’s early years and her relationship with John Tubman, the piece aims to bring fresh cultural and emotional depth to a story often overshadowed by Harriet’s later work as an abolitionist and freedom fighter.
