Amazon’s “Barbershop” TV Show Now Casting in Atlanta – Extras

By | December 11, 2025

Amazon has a TV show currently in production that is based on “Barbershop.”

The series is filming in the Atlanta, Georgia area and is currently casting for locals to Atlanta who would like to work as paid extras on set.

Amazon MGM Studios has announced a new Barbershop series for Prime Video, celebrating the humor and spirit of the original film franchise. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, says the project has co-showrunners Max Searle and Marshall Todd behind it.

The producers would like to see Calvin’s Chicago barbershop, brought back to life for a new generation of viewers. Barbershop is one of several MGM titles being adapted following Amazon’s acquisition of the studio, joining projects like the Legally Blonde prequel Elle and the upcoming Carrie and Tomb Raider series. The new series is executive produced by Todd, Searle, Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, Mike Stein, Bradley Gardner, Cameron Burnett, Autumn Bailey-Ford, George L. Tillman Jr., and Robert Teitel, with Tiffany Brown as co-executive producer. It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios. For more see the deadline article about the series here.
