Berkshire Music School Announces 2025 Merit and Talent Scholarship Auditions
The Berkshire Music School (BMS) has announced upcoming Merit and Talent Scholarship Auditions. The 2025 auditions will be taking place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at its campus, located at 30 Wendell Ave, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Open to vocalists and instrumentalists of all skill levels and ages, the auditions offer a valuable opportunity for young musicians to showcase their talent and potentially earn financial support toward their music education at BMS. Thanks to the generosity of the school’s donors, these scholarships aim to support aspiring musicians in their artistic and academic pursuits.
For those unable to attend in person, BMS is also accepting virtual auditions. Participants can submit a video recording that meets the audition requirements, along with a completed registration form. All virtual submissions must be sent to Sarah Prouty at sprouty@berkshiremusicschool.org by June 25.
Audition Requirements
Instrumentalists:
- One-octave major and minor scales in a key of the performer’s choice
- Two contrasting pieces of the performer’s choice
Vocalists:
- Two contrasting pieces of the performer’s choice
Please note that BMS will not be providing an accompanist. Instrumentalists must perform solo, while vocalists may sing to a pre-recorded accompaniment they provide.
The Merit and Talent Scholarship Auditions are designed not only to recognize and support musical talent, but also to encourage artistic growth within the community. BMS invites all interested students to participate—whether in person or virtually—and take advantage of this opportunity to further their musical education.
