Chosen Season 6 now casting extras in Midland, Texas.
The Chosen is a Christian themed, historical drama series that brings the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth to the screen in a multi-season format. The series is filming in Texas this spring/summer and will be filming scenes in MIDLOTHIAN, TX (Dallas Area) that casting directors are seeking to fill various paid roles as series stand ins for work next month.
Created, directed, and co-written by Dallas Jenkins, the show is set in 1st-century Judaea and Galilee, focusing on Jesus and the diverse group of people who encountered and followed him. Jonathan Roumie stars as Jesus, with notable performances by Shahar Isaac, Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, and George H. Xanthis.
The Chosen stands out for its unique crowdfunding model, which has made it the most successful crowdfunded TV series or film project in history. Viewers can watch the series for free on its dedicated app, supported by a pay-it-forward system that allows fans to contribute to the production costs, ensuring free access for others. Additional funding is secured through licensing deals with other streaming platforms, TV networks, and theatrical releases.

The series began filming on rented sets in Texas but later expanded to use a Jerusalem set in Utah, provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Following the acclaim of its first two seasons, The Chosen collaborated with the National Christian Foundation and the Impact Foundation to build a comprehensive production complex in Texas. This facility includes a soundstage, set workshops, and a detailed replica of the village of Capernaum, further enhancing the show’s production capabilities.
