Project Runway is coming back for a 2026 season 22.
The long running fashion design reality competition has just opened up online auditions for 2026. This will be for season 22 of Project Runway. Online auditions are open through February, 1, 2026.
That’s right, that would be season 22 of the hit show. All you aspiring designers who are seeking a chance to get noticed, have a few months to get their submission materials in order and submit their audition videos and their work, via an online form. Project Runway has been renewed for its 22nd season, expected to air in 2026. While premiere date is not announced yet, past seasons mostly premiered in the spring / summer season. The most recent season premiered in July of this year.
Project Runway has been on air for two decades, across various networks and streaming providers. As of last season, the show aired on Freeform and across the Disney streaming services. Episodes were available on Disney+ and Hulu. The 21st season (2025) marked a notable revival and new chapter for the series. Premiering on July 31, 2025, the show moved to Freeform and expanded into streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Host and former longtime judge Heidi Klum returned to the franchise after an eight-year hiatus. Joining her on the judges’ panel were Nina García and Law Roach, with Season 4 winner Christian Siriano stepping in as the mentor for the designers.

While, we don’t know exactly what changes will be made to the show, as far as judges… It seems that Heidi Klum will once again be hosting as she is featured on the new graphics for the 2026 season. Furthermore, it seams that the 2026 iteration of Project Runway will remain under Disney and casting as a Disney show… at least for 2026.

Created by Eli Holzman, the show originally aired on Bravo and quickly became a cultural phenomenon, with contestants competing in weekly design challenges under the mentorship of Tim Gunn.

Project Runway has announced that it will be filming in winter/fall of 2026 with the initial filming timeframe stated to be February 26 – April 14, 2026. While that is the stated timeframe for filming season 22 of Project Runway… the show’s producers do mention that it may be subject to change.
