Auditions Announced for Barefoot in the Park at Avalon Theatre

The Avalon Theatre in Marysville, Ohio, will host open auditions this month for Neil Simon’s beloved romantic comedy Barefoot in the Park. Auditions will be held on July 20 and 21, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Avalon Theatre.
Performances of the show will take place September 26–28, 2025, at the Union County Veterans Memorial Auditorium, with proceeds benefiting the Care Train of Union County.
About the Show
Barefoot in the Park tells the hilarious story of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they navigate the ups and downs of married life in a tiny New York apartment. Corie’s free spirit and Paul’s practicality clash, especially when Corie’s quirky mother and their eccentric upstairs neighbor Victor Velasco join the mix for an unforgettable dinner party where everything that can go wrong… does.
Roles Available
Corie Bratter (Female Lead): Newly married, carefree, high-energy, optimistic, early 20s.
Paul Bratter (Male Lead): Newly married to Corie, a practical, cautious, slightly anxious young lawyer, mid-20s.
Ethel Banks (Female Supporting): Corie’s widowed mother, protective, loving, and traditional, age 45–50.
Victor Velasco (Male Supporting): Eccentric and adventurous upstairs neighbor, with an Eastern European flair, age 50–60.
Harry Pepper (Male Supporting): Telephone installer/repairman, dry humor, mid-30s.
Delivery Man (Featured, Non-Speaking): Any age.
Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to audition.
