Chicago, IL: The Beverly Theatre Guild (BTG) is excited to announce auditions for its 63rd season opener, Singin’ in the Rain. This beloved classic is scheduled to be performed on October 17, 18 and 19, 2025, at the Baer Theater at Morgan Park Academy, home of BTG.

Singin’ in the Rain will be staged by veteran Director Fred Eberle, with Assistant Direction by Sheilah O’Grady-Krajniak. Music Director Sharon Mason will be teaming with Associate Music Director Michael Barr-Schinzel to bring the music to life. The choreography will be done by Northwestern alum Erin Soko. This popular show for all ages is being produced by Jean Friend and Camika Harding.

Auditions are scheduled for Monday, August 11th and Tuesday, August 12th at the Baer Theater, 2153 West 111th Street in Chicago. Callbacks will be held on August 13th, if necessary. The Beverly Theatre Guild is Chicago’s longest running community theatre company. BTG shows are performed at the Baer Theater, a 425-seat venue with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, located at 2153 West 111th Street on the campus of the Morgan Park Academy. An earnest, talented actress with wit and charm. She falls in love with Don and performs as Lina’s speaking and singing voice.

A successful, magnanimous film producer. He leads the other characters in creating a new movie musical.

Roscoe Dexter – no vocal requirements
A famous film director with theatrical mannerisms and tendencies. Frequently frazzled and works with Lina and Don.

Age: 30 to 50

Rod – no vocal requirements
An excitable film agent bordering on manic. He works for Simpson.
Gender: male
Age: 35 to 45

Miss Dinsmore – no vocal requirements
Lina’s vocal coach. She is the “mother hen” type with caring affection for the younger performers.
Gender: female
Age: 45 to 70

Submission Instructions:

Auditions will take place on Monday, August 11, and Tuesday, August 12, with callbacks on Wednesday, August 13, if necessary.
We will notify you via text, email, or phone call if you are needed for a callback.

All auditions will be held at the Baer Theater at Morgan Park Academy, 2153 W 111th St, Chicago. Street parking is available on 111th St, or in the Lot that can be accessed off 112th St. You can enter the building from 111th St or the MPA courtyard. Please Note: There are several similar addresses and titles in the area, so be sure you are coming to the right place!

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your assigned slot to fill out paperwork and bring a list or calendar with your conflicts.

Please prepare 16- 32 bars of a song from the show, or a similar style. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music or recorded accompaniment. No a cappella singing auditions will be allowed.

This is a singing AND dancing audition. Wear comfortable clothing for dancing and bring tap shoes if you have them.
