Aurora Community Theatre – Auditions for Disaster! Directed by Nicole Lucas
It’s 1979, and New York’s hottest A-listers are lining up for the opening of a floating casino and discotheque. What begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters! As the night turns into day, everyone struggles to survive and, quite possibly, repair the love that they’ve lost… or at least escape the killer rats. Audiences and critics are wild for this hilarious homage to the era of bell-bottoms, platform shoes and the hustle. With larger-than-life characters, snappy dialogue and some of the most recognizable songs of the ’70s, Disaster! will have you dancing in your seats and rolling in the aisles.

Please come prepared to sing 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (with a track you provide or acapella). There will also be a short dance combination. Please bring a hard copy resume.
ACTOR NEEDED ASAP – TONY in Disaster!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are urgently looking for someone to step into the role of Tony, the smooth-talking owner of the floating casino in the musical Disaster! What you need to know:
This hilarious show takes place in 1979, in a floating casino and discotheque. What begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters! As the night turns into day, everyone struggles to survive and, quite possibly, repair the love that they’ve lost… or at least escape the killer rats.
Tony: Male-presenting, 30s-50s (flexible). Confident, charming, and a little full of himself. Tenor/high baritone preferred.
If you (or someone you know) might be a good fit, please reach out right away! A quick video of a 70s-style pop/disco song is helpful but not required to start the conversation.
Rehearsals are in progress at Aurora Community Theatre (Sundays 3-6 and Mondays through Thursdays 6:30-9).
The show runs from April 17 – May 3.
