Casting Call for 2026 Season of “Chicago Med”

Production is back on the NBC Chicago themed shows. Casting directors for the Chicago Med series are currently looking to cast area locals who would like to work as paid background actors on set. The show premiered in 2015 and is currently filming new episodes for the 2025 season of the show.

The casting notices are listed below.  Please only submit your information if you are local to the Chicagoland area and have the availability needed.  Please see the details of what they are casting for below. Please note that this is only for background actors / extras.

The Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s elite team of dedicated doctors, nurses and staff face challenges each day as they do what it takes to treat their patients, sometimes in surprisingly inventive ways. Chicago Med – General Availability

IMPORTANT NOTE: This episode is a direct continuation from episode 11015, so it is a VERY LOW NUMBERS episode, in terms of new faces. The background that worked in the ED scenes in 11015 are needed for continuity, so we are not looking to fill all the ED roles, as normal. We do have some other hallway and O.R. scenes that WILL need ‘new faces,’ so please don’t let this deter you from submitting, but understand that we do not have many spaces available this time around. (but the crossover is coming, so hang in there!)

FOR GENERAL SUBMISSIONS: PLEASE USE THE GOOGLE FORM, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. We open every single email submission and manually transfer your info and availability to a spreadsheet, so we strongly encourage you to use the form instead of emailing your submission. If you receive an error message, please try the following troubleshooting tips:

• Clear your cache / cookies (if you use Safari)
• Try using Chrome
• Try using a laptop instead of a phone

This submission form is for general background roles, which means they’re open to any gender, any ethnicity, ages 18 and older WITHIN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA (2 hrs of Chicago). You must have graduated from high school and not be attending classes at the time of submission. If we have any roles available for minors, we’ll post for that separately.

General background roles pay $132.80/8. The pay rate is a flat rate for any time worked up to 8 hours (it is not an hourly rate), with time + 1/2 after 8 hours. If we book you with your vehicle to be parked on set, there will be a $35 bump added to your pay. No red or white vehicles, please.

– PHOTOS: Please submit a headshot and a full length photo that reflects your current look/hairstyle. DO NOT APPLY FILTERS, DO NOT SEND A PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT. If you submit via the Google Form, select either a headshot OR full length photo.
– TATTOOS: Please provide photos of ALL tattoos that can be seen in a short sleeve t-shirt. This includes face/neck, arms, and hands/fingers. If you do not have tattoos, state NO TATTOOS. **If you submit via the Google form, we will reach out to obtain your tattoo photos prior to booking.
-AVAILABLE DATES: Please list all available dates between Wednesday 1/14 and Monday 1/26. We do not film on weekends (M-F only). Call times are usually early in the morning (unless otherwise noted) and filming days typically last 8-12 hours. Do not submit availability for the day if you have any time constraints.

Role: We are looking for a MALE, ANY ETHNICITY, MID 30s, to play a trauma patient with a forehead wound. You will have a prosthetic piece applied to your forehead, so you should not have a latex allergy, if you submit. There will also be SPFX blood and makeup on your face.
Please submit a NON-PROFESSIONAL headshot (shoulders up, like a driver’s license photo) in order to be considered.

Subject line: FEMALE PATIENT 1/21
Role: We are looking for a FEMALE, ANY ETHNICITY, AGES 20s-30s, to play a very disheveled pregnant patient. You will be wearing a pregnancy belly under your clothing (provided by the costume department) and have SPFX makeup applied to you.
Must be willing to have SPFX makeup applied to one or both of your feet. If you have painted toenails, you must be willing to remove the polish for filming.

Subject line: YOUNG CHARLES
Role: We are looking for a CAUCASIAN MALE, AGES 19-EARLY 20s, ROUGHLY 6’4″, to play a young version of Dr Charles.
For this role, we will need you to submit 3 photos:
1) Front facing, from the shoulders or torso up, like a driver’s license photo
2) Full length photo (front facing)
3) Full length photo (side profile)
Stature / physique is important when it comes to a body double, so we need to show the director what you look like from the front and side angles. Do not send professionally taken photos; these need to be CURRENT and candid.
Please note that you may be asked to wear a wig if you have shorter length hair.

Pay: $185.40/8 + $25 fitting bump + $15 wig bump (if applicable)
