Auditions for “Spider Baby” – The Musical – at The Ocean Beach Playhouse

Raucous and wild. Sexy and scary. This is the musical you’ve been waiting for. No pop culture references, no tongue in cheek, just hard rock music and horror.
SPIDER BABY THE MUSCIAL comes to life–and back to San Diego–at the Ocean Beach Playhouse in October!

Please bring a karaoke track or prepare to sing acapella. Rock musical style preferred.
SHOW DATES: Oct 18,19,25.26,31, Nov 1 & 2
All shows are at 7:30 pm
*Cast members will receive a small stipend.
BREAKDOWNS:
Peter Howe: male early to mid 20’s. Jovial trusting and a bit of a schmoe. Our
hero. Baritone or tenor.
Messenger: any age or ethnicity could be double cast with Ebenezer Merrye.
Virginia Merrye: female late teens to early 20 Caucasian or mixed. Wild child
overly free with herself. Alto or mezzo.
Elizabeth Merrye: female early to late teens Caucasian or mixed. Youngest child
who is given all the responsibility and doesn’t care for it. Alto.
Bruno: male 40s or older any ethnicity. Beaten down by life and responsibility.
The children’s caretaker. Baritone
Ralph Merrye: make early 20’s. A drooling idiot. More beast than man. Baritone.
Schlocker: Male any age above 30. An ambulance chaser with delusions of
grandeur. Tenor.
Anne Morse: female early to mid teens. Our love interest and Schlockers
secretary. Should have a good scream. Mezzo.
Emily Howe: Female mid to late 20’s. Appears repressed but has a wild side. Alto.
Ebenezer Merrye: a corpse. Can be a mannequin or double cast with the
messenger.
