Every week we will have a new review. The 2 friends will work on the script together with a creative/comedy writer but it needs to feel like their show.
The goal of these reviews is to be fun and entertaining and the challenge for the two friends is to generate a community of followers.
We are open to 2 girls, 2 guys or 1 girl and 1 guy. Looking for the next Morecambe and Wise, French and Saunders, Ant and Dec. This can either be made up or two people who know each other or individuals who we will put together through the casting process. There needs to be chemistry between them. They have to have enough confidence to take the piss out of the other one. There needs to be contrast between their characters. Part of the fun will come from their opinion clashes, so they need to have different approaches to things. They need to be passionate about movies. The show needs to feel real, so we need real, charismatic people. We are open to cast young stand-up comedians.
‘The Movie Mates Project’ is an online show made by two friends who review movies in their own peculiar style and suggest what kind of friends would like those movies.
The reviews take form of videos where the 2 friends banter about the movie (looking into the camera). They come up with funny ways to judge the movie and explain their personal take on the film.
