Seeking White Actor/Musician for “Smoke on the Mountain” and “Sanders Family Christmas”

PlayRight Productions is seeking Non-Equity actors/musicians for both box office hits “Smoke on the Mountain” AND “Sanders Family Christmas.” This is a paid role in a touring company currently booked through December and anticipating future events.

PERFORMANCE DATES: Beginning in September 2011 and running indefinitely.

AUDITION DATE: Tuesday, July 5, 2011

AUDITION TIMES: 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

AUDITION LOCATION: Dunwoody Community Church; 2250 Dunwoody Club Drive; Atlanta, GA 30350

SYNOPSIS: Uplifting, genuine, and just plain fun, this is bluegrass gospel as you’ve never heard it before. It’s 1938 in rural North Carolina, and Pastor Mervin Oglethorpe is trying to lead the church in it’s first ever Saturday Night Sing. Bluegrass gospel favorites such as “I’ll Fly Away,” “Church in the Wildwood,” and “Angel Band” are included.

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING ROLE: Stanley Sanders

BREAKDOWN: Stanley should look between 35 and 50 years of age. He plays guitar, banjo, and possibly mandolin. Guitar and Banjo a MUST!

WHAT TO BRING/PREPARE:

Bring a picture and resume or email prior to the audition.

Please email your interest and we will send the character breakdown and music to prepare.

The monologue does not need to be memorized, but be familiar with the material.

The music will be performed along with another musician on keyboard or guitar.
