Dreams from the Treehouse, LLC, a New Production Company, is now casting for it’s feature-length film, The Apostle. A pilot project of The Apostle, using the concept, was filmed two years ago. Due to the project’s success, we have recast professionally and will be filming the full feature length movie this July. The Apostle is the story of God’s Second Son in his teenaged years and the difficulties he finds struggling to understand the power inside of him and the world around him. This is a coming of age film more than it is a religious film. We will be filming on location throughout the state of Iowa from July 1st to the 16th. Our base will be in Kanawha, IA. Once finished, the film will be submitted to numerous film festivals.
SEEKING: Energetic, non-union actors; individuals who are out-going and not afraid to take a chance. This is an excellent chance to further your on camera experience and be seen by other professionals. Seeking submissions only for the following roles:
Agnes: (Female, Late 30s to early 50s) Lucas, the Second Son of God’s adoptive mother. Down and dirty kind of gritty woman, who can sink her teeth in to protect her child. Agnes believes in tough love and occasionally has a bit of a gutter mouth. Actress must be able to deliver sarcasm well. Seeking actresses of any race. Flexible filming schedule based on actress’ availability. This role requires two and a half days of filming.
Milty: (Male, Late 20s to early 40s) Milty is a distant but spiritual figure. His presence is always known and seen. Milty is an angel or being sent by God to watch over Lucas. Lucas, unknowing of what the angel really is, has taken to calling him “Uncle Milty.” This role requires two days of filming. Flexible schedule but based on the actress playing Agnes’ availability.
Young Lucas: (Male, 9-12) A young boy with a look of absolute innocence. May be played by someone older or younger than 9-12, but actors may not be taller than 5’ 3”. Must have brown hair, the longer/curlier, the better.
PAY: These actors will be paid stipends according to the roles: Agnes $300; Milty $200, Young Lucas $100. Actors must be local and/or be able to provide their own transportation to and from set, in and around Kanawha, IA.
WHERE/WHEN: Auditions will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 on Monday June 25th, 2012 at the Webster City Community Theatre in Webster City, IA (1001 Willson Avenue Webster City, IA 50595) . Signs will direct you where to go. Callbacks, if needed, will be from the same times on Tuesday, the 26th. If you have a unique scheduling problem, please email us at the email address below.
