Another open casting call for extras in Mississippi is scheduled for Wednesday from 2PM to 4PM.
Also, Saturday from 10AM to 4PM.
The address is 115 S. Pearl Street and it is the Natchez Council Chambers.
The film is still looking for people who would like to participate in the production as extras. The film will be shooting through January 2014.
They are specifically looking for African American dancers and musicians, African American boys who are 9 to 11 years old, Military types and some teens to play school kids.
Also, they are looking for older cars that were made between 1930 and 1964.
All ethnicities are welcome to come because they are looking for many other scenes to fill.
All extras will have to fit into the time period of 1930’s to 1970’s so they would like natural hair that fits the time frames.

Mississippi Actors and musicians are welcome to audition for Universal Pictures new movie “Get On Up” based on the life of the Godfather of soul, James Brown. Chadwick Boseman (“42”) will star as James Brown, Viola Davis and Octavia Spenser.
This will be the second open casting call for this project and casting directors are looking for men, women and kids to be a part of this movie. They are especially interested in African American musicians who can really play any of the following: trumpet, saxophone, guitar, bass, trombone or drums As well as twin African American kids who are 5 to 8 years old.
The production is casting extras that can fit into the time of James Brown, 1930’s to 1919’s. Period hair is a big plus. They are looking for people with natural hairstyles, so no weaves, wigs or hair dye. Extras need to look like they belong in one of those decades. They are not looking for people with shaved heads. If you have a shaved head, they request that you let it grow out before the casting call.
If attending, please come dressed in your “Sunday’s Best”. Casting is looking for people that can fit into 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s looks. If you have some retro clothes, wear them to the casting call.

The James Brown movie “Get On Up” will be filming this fall in Jackson Mississippi and Natchez. The film will begin to film in November and those auditioning should be available for some full days that month.

In his follow-up to the four-time Academy Award®-nominated blockbuster The Help, Tate Taylor directs 42’s Chadwick Boseman as James Brown in GET ON UP. Based on the incredible life story of the Godfather of Soul, the film will give a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. Academy Award® winner Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, 8 Mile) and Erica Huggins (Flightplan) produce for Imagine Entertainment, with Mick Jagger and Victoria Pearman (Shine a Light) producing under their Jagged Films banner. “GET ON UP” will be released in theaters on October 17, 2014 and the film will be shooting in the area until January of 2014.
