The Sound of the Rockies, an internationally recognized a cappella men’s chorus, will hold auditions for new members on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Open auditions will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 7691 S. University Blvd. in Centennial. Men of all voice parts and experience levels are invited to attend. The Sound of the Rockies is an exciting chorus of 100+ members with over 60 years of history. The chorus has recently performed at Air Canada Centre (Toronto, CAN), the Colorado Convention Center, the Broadmoor Hotel, has annual performances at the DU Newman Center, and has been traveling to international chorus competitions around the country for two decades.
While most of its members are not professional musicians, the chorus takes pride in its high standards of performance and musical excellence. Those planning to audition should bring a prepared vocal piece of any musical style to sing for approximately 1-2 minutes. You may sing a cappella or an accompanist will be on hand for those who bring sheet music. Bringing your own accompanist is also an option. An enthusiastic presentation of the prepared piece is appreciated. Musical leadership from the Sound of the Rockies organization will be on hand to greet the candidates and provide feedback on the audition.
