Bolden! The Buddy Bolden biopic begins filming this summer.
A new project that will be filming this fall in Atlanta is now casting actors with experience for recurring roles.
The project’s casting directors are seeking African American actors who are willing to grow out their hair to be cast as a core group that works regularly from the month of August into October. You can see the information for submissions below. These roles will require in person auditions.
The film will star Anthony Mackie, Jackie Earle Haley, Wendell Pierce, Michael Rooker and Michael Irby. This film has actually been in the works for quite some time. It was filming back in 2007 and experienced production delays. Seems that the film will finally getting finished, you can read more about the previous production delays on Deadline.
Bolden! will be a mythical account of the life of Buddy Bolden, the first Cornet King of New Orleans – BOLDEN! – an amazing historical project about the life of rag-time legend Buddy Bolden
This will film in the Atlanta area and casting directors will only be considering those that live fairly close to the area.
CORE GROUP: African-American men & women between the ages of 18 & 30, with acting experience to be part of a CORE group that will work regularly and start end of August thru mid-October. MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. If interested, please start growing your hair out NOW. No modern styles, edges, etc.
