HBO Miniseries “Show Me A Hero” Needs Al Sharpton Look-a-like

Casting call for HBO show

The new HBO miniseries “Show Me A Hero” is casting for an actor / extra who looks like Al Sharpton in the New York City area. Casting directors with Grant Wilfley Casting are seeking a heavy set African American male to portray Al Sharpton in a scene that will be filming in the first part of October. This is a period piece set in the 80’s and they are seeking someone who resembles Al Sharpton in the 80’s.

According to a Deadline report, the miniseries cast will include Oscar Isaac,Richardson Jackson, Latanya Richardson Jackson, Natalie Paul, Clarke Peters and Daniel Stern. The show is based on the book by Lisa Belkin and will be a six hour series about Nick Wasicsko, the youngest big-city mayor in the country who finds himself in a racial controversy when a court orders they build a small amount of low income housing in neighborhoods that have a white majority of residents, Yonkers NY. His attempt to comply with the order brings on the critics and ultimately destroys his political career.

Seeking a Rev Al Sharpton Look-a-like from the 1980s for upcoming HBO miniseries SHOW ME A HERO. African American men only, heavyset, hair unimportant as wig will be provided.

Filming scheduled for October 9th in Yonkers, NY (transportation provided from Manhattan). Email 2 current snapshots (selfies are fine), one head & shoulders, one full body.
