Project Synopsis
Imagination is the driving force of childhood. It allows a child to envision their future and conjure the hopes and dreams that will later
make that vision a reality. For Jake and Joan, it colors the present and makes sense of their tragedies. Ten year old Jake’s sharp wit and cynicism is sweetly counterbalanced by his eleven year old sister’s enthusiasm and humor. In this three-part short, the audience develops a relationship with the brother and sister as the two converse and play. The siblings will charm you with their wit and particular brand of creativity, and frustrate you with their fears and inhibitions. In the end, with the intimacy of friendship developed between character and audience, the final vignette will allow you a glimpse of their hurt. In knowing them, you will be known.
