Sony’s “Powers” is filming season 1 and there is a casting call out for some possibly recurring extras roles.
The series casting directors are seeking male and female talent between the ages of 20 to 50 to play detectives next Monday and Tuesday.
“Powers” is adapted from the comic / graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. The story revolves around a world where quite a few people have super powers and is set in a version of Chicago (The show does film in Atlanta though). In this alternate version of Chicago, 2 cops are part of a unit that tracks down and tries to stop villains who have “Powers“. Christian Walker played by Sharlto Copley (District 9) and Deena Pilgrim played Susan Heyward are homicide detectives tracking down these super-villians. In the show, Christian Walker was actually once one of the “Powers” crowd. After losing his super powers in a struggle, he became a police detective.
The new Sony series will premiere on the new PS streaming network which will be available to PS Plus subscribers for free. “Powers” is the first original series for Playstation and according to news reports, the company is planning more. During Comic Con this year, Sony did reveal the trailer for the new show and you can see it below. The show will premier on the Sony Playstation sometime this winter.
The show is still filming the 1st season around the Atlanta area and folks interested in being extras for the TV series can follow the below submission instructions for CL Casting, the show’s extras casting directors.
