“Magnificent Seven” Remake Casting Experienced Horse Riders in LA

Magnificent Seven” is beginning production in Louisiana and casting for a core group of experienced horse riders for ongoing work this spring / summer.

The 1960’s classic is being brought back to the movie theaters and filming this summer. The western will be filming around the St. Francisville area. The core group will be working 30 to 40 days between May and August. “Magnificent Seven” stars Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Haley Bennett and Luke Grimes. It tells the story of seven gunfighters in the old west.

The Magnificent Seven” will reunite Antoine Fuqua, Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. Fuqua directed Washington and Hawke on “Training Day”. “Training Day” earned Denzel an Oscar and an Oscar nomination for Hawke. According to screenrant, the Magnificent Seven remake will be based on a script written by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective) then revised by John Lee Hancock (The Alamo). The project is based on the 1960 film of the same name about seven gunslingers who are hired by a widow to protect a village. The original 1960 film starred Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter and James Coburn as the Magnificent Seven.

Magnificent Seven – Experienced Horse Riders

We are now casting a core group of specialty background to work a large portion of this movie. Looking for men & women who have the period western look and have a lot of experience riding horses. The daily rate if chosen to work will be $125 / 10 hours.

This core group will likely work 30-40 days between May 18th-August 18th in the New Roads / St. Francisville area. You must also be available for an interview next week on Wednesday, April 29th in New Roads, Louisiana.

The film is also seeking many other types to work as paid extras on the movie. Since this is a western, they are especially interested in people who can pull off a great western / rugged look. There is an open casting call scheduled for talent at Celtic Studios in Baton Rouge this Saturday 4/25 and those that cannot attend the open call can send in their photos and contact information by email.
