“Sleepy Hollow” Filming in GA Needs Lots of Paid Background Actors

Fox’s Sleepy Hollow  is now casting extras for season 3.

The show is filming this month in the Atlanta area and has a casting call out for talent / background actors to play people at attending an opera in the 1700’s. The casting call is for Caucasian men and women who can pass for being from the 1700s…. no visible tattoos, modern haircuts / hair colors, etc. They are interested in slim ladies (due to costume sizes) and men with a clean shaven look. There is a costume fitting that all talent will need to attend. Talent cast will need to come in for a paid costume fitting in Conyers, GA. Fittings will start tomorrow.

The supernatural themed crime drama is a modern take on Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow“.   While “Sleepy Hollow” is set in modern times, the series makes use of many flashbacks to to the Revolutionary War era.  In “Sleepy Hollow“,  Ichabod Crane gets resurrected and wakes up in modern day, Sleepy Hollow.  Crane quickly finds out that he is not alone. The headless Horseman suffered the same fate and is now on the loose and causing chaos in the present day. Crane teams up with a female detective to get to the bottom of what is going on and hopes to uncover the Horseman’s real mission.

Fox recently announced that season 3 will return to a more even balance between reality and mythology.  “Sleepy Hollow” season 2 was much more focused on the supernatural aspects of the show and subsequently, the show saw their ratings drop that season.  In a recent EW report, Fox chairman CEO Dana Walden commented What we asked for a return to the storytelling model of the first season, a little bit more of the fun instead of such a deep mythology that got a little bit dense.” To step away from the mythology overload, the shows producers are planning a cross-over episode with their other show, “Bones“.  In the cross-over “Bones’s”  Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) encounter Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) after evidence of a crime puts the 2 teams on the same path. Not often do we see cross-over episodes between two totally unrelated shows of different genres (if ever), but, fans of both can watch the episode on October 29th.
