Casting TV Show in San Diego and Oceanside areas
TNT is bringing “Animal Kingdom” back for season 2. The show premiered this past spring on TNT and is based on the 2010 Australian drama, also called “Animal Kingdom.” The original, critically acclaimed film was an adaptation of the story of the Pettingill crime family. This high octane crime drama stars Emmy and Tony Award winner Ellen Barkin with actor Finn Cole in the lead role of Joshua “J” Cody. “Animal Kingdom” airs on TNT and was created by Jonathan Lisco.
Central Casting is looking for Oceanside locals of all types who represent the atmosphere and people of the beach city. The show is gearing up to film season 2 beginning in early 2017 and will be needing lots of paid extras, featured extras, photo doubles and stand-ins.
Update – Season 4 of Animal Kingdom is now filming and there are new casting calls for the show. See https://www.auditionsfree.com/2019/open-casting-call-in-oceanside-california-for-animal-kingdom-2019/
The series focuses on a teen aged boy who goes to live with his criminal relatives….
After a heroin overdose kills his mom, teenager Joshua “J” Cody moves to Southern California to live with his freewheeling relatives where he quickly realizes that the family is no Brady Bunch. The family lives a life of excess and it is not long until he discovers how the family makes their money.
The family’s matriarch is J’s estranged grandmother, Janine “Smurf” Cody, from whom he’s been shielded for years. J soon finds out the reason for the isolation — Smurf and “her boys” make their livings through carefully planned armed robberies and other criminal activities. Prominent perpetrators are Smurf’s relatively level-headed right-hand man Baz and her three sons: mentally disturbed ex-con Pope, hyperactive drug user Craig, and suspicious Deran. In order to stay alive, J must prove loyal to his beguiling grandmother, who rules with a borderline-incestuous love.
