Story Synopsis: a newly-converted vegan struggles to find support or a hot meal amongst her traditional meat-dedicated family who happen to also be the heirs of a thriving regional soul-food chain.
Attention Please Read Carefully, For the roles of SHASTA AND BETH, We are casting for someone who is capable of playing a “Double Role” in this short. This means that if cast, you will be playing both the lead role and the supporting role Shasta and Beth Ellis, twin sisters.
If cast, you will need to be prepared with the stamina to perform as each character, yet offer a contrast in performance to benefit the two separate roles.
SHASTA ELLIS: (mid-20s) an enlightened, outspoken graduate who returns home as a
newly-converted vegan much to her family’s dismay.
BETH ELLIS: (mid-20s) Shasta’s identical twin noted for her wasted, unpredictable and
brash personality
PHYLLIS ELLIS: Shasta & Beth’s mother (late 40s) – a walking paradox of both
love and snob rolled up into one stylish but heavily made-over individual.
