An upcoming movie filming in Jackson Mississippi this fall is holding auditions for child actors, a boy to fill the lead role of Chucky Mullins.
The feature film is based on a true story and titled “It’s Time.” Chucky is an African American boy, 9 years of age. Football experience is preferred.

STORY LINE: During a brutal collision between two football players, CHUCKY MULLINS is left on the playing field with four exploded vertebrae. The player who sacked him, BRAD GAINES, desperately needs to reach out to Chucky — and in spite of what happened, the two young men become fast friends, and support each other emotionally until the hour of Chucky’s death…
[YOUNG CHUCKY MULLINS] African-American, 9 years old in 1978, Young Chucky is a football nut. He lives with his grandmother, and never sees his mother. He loves to do push-ups, works like a dog to finance his obsession, and lives for the moments when he is on the field, facing a 9 or 10 year old opponent. Mired in black poverty, Young Chucky is orphaned when his grandmother passes, and he is lucky to be adopted into the family of Carver and Karen Phillips, who provide a loving home in which his natural athleticism and God-given optimism of spirit can both flourish…LEAD.
