Casting call in Atlanta area for ”Thank You for Your Service”
The project’s casting directors are looking to cast paid extras for a few upcoming scenes in the movie. Rose Locke Casting is looking for vets and active duty military for a funeral scene as well as African American men and women with a tough, urban look. The movie is filming in Atlanta, Georgia and only considering local talent for the small roles.
“Thank You for Your Service“ is based on a non-fiction book about PTSD written by Pulitzer Prize winning writer, David Finkel. “Thank You for Your Service” is an adaptation of David Finkel’s book of the same name. Finkel’s account of the war as seen from the front lines of Baghdad was chronicled in his non-fiction book, “The Good Soldiers.” Finkel embedded with the men of the 2-16 Infantry Battalion as they carried out the infamous “surge,” a grueling fifteen-month tour that changed them all forever. ”Thank You for Your Service” is the follow-up book in which the author follows many in the same group, post war, as the soldiers return home and attempt to re-join society.
DreamWorks’ ”Thank You for Your Service” will offer a look at how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affects American servicemen and women returning home from war. The movie, as the book, will follow a group of soldiers that are returning home from the Iraq war to find that the stresses of war have come home with them. The film focuses on the struggle to re-integrate into civilian life. The film was originally a project that Steven Spielberg was taking on with Daniel Day-Lewis possibly taking the lead role, but those plans have changed “American Sniper” writer Jason Hall is heading up the film as writer (screenplay) and director. The movie has been in the works for a few years now and finally in production with Jason Hall making his directorial debut on this.
According to IMDB, the movie will be released this year, 2016, but a specific release date is yet to be set. Miles Teller and Haley Bennett will be starring in “Thank You for Your Service.“

Thurs, March 10th- SPLIT
A split means we start late morning or early afternoon and will work til 2/3am or so.
PROSPECT OPTION 2
Mon, March 14th- DAY SHOOT
PROSPECT OPTION 3
Tues, March 15th AND Wed 16th – MUST WORK BOTH DAYS
15th is a Split
16th is an Overnight
Overnight means you start approx 4pm or so and work through til the next morning!
PROSPECT OPTION 4
Thurs, March 17th- OVERNIGHT
PROSPECT OPTION 5
Fri, March 18th- OVERNIGHT
