The Broadway musical ‘School of Rock” is hosting auditions for kids to join the cast.
Tara Rubin Casting will be holding open auditions in New York City later this month. The show is seeking kids who can play musical instruments.
School of Rock is based on the Paramount movie of the same name which starred Jack Black as a substitute teacher who becomes bored with his current situation and decides to turn his class room into the School of Rock. Dewey Finn, the rockin’ substitute teacher, disregards the schools curriculum and creates his own turning his class of preppy A-students into a guitar shredding, drum blazing rock and roll band.
Andrew Lloyd Webber created the score for the rock musical which also features all the original songs from the Jack Black movie.
Kids attending the auditions must be able to play one of the instruments listed below in order to be considered. Kids must be between the ages of 8 and 12 and be no taller than 5′.

We would love to hear you sing a short rock song. If you play guitar or bass, bring it and be prepared to ROCK OUT! If you play the piano, prepare a ROCKING TUNE! If drums are your thing, bring your sticks. DRUMS, KEYBOARD AND AMPS ARE PROVIDED.
