Casting Call for Short Film “The Last Leaf”

Characters and Descriptions:
Tabby – (25+, female) Hardworking, somewhat cynical. The leader of the “family.” She loves Lea and is still rather over-protective.
Lea – (18-22, female)* Has now been struggling with depression for years and has only fallen deeper and deeper into it to the point of despair.
Teen Lea – (13-16, female)* Beginning to experience depression, she’s not sure what’s going on. She wonders what she’s lost and questions the way she’s feeling. She now recognizes the absence of her mother but at this point it’s all she’s ever known so she considers it normality.
Little Lea – (6-8, female) The youngest version of Lea (besides the baby). She’s bright and artistic, seemingly unaware of her mother’s neglect. Her world focuses around her sister Tabby and whatever she can paint next.
Younger Tabby – (11-15, female) Resourceful but over-responsible, and burdened by such responsibility at a young age. She feels like she’s the only thing protecting Lea and has in most ways become her parent/guardian already.
The Mother – (Middle aged adult, female) At first glance seems normal, and at times even seems caring and loving, but something here is missing. She seems spacey and detached, not able to properly give attention or consistent care to her children, causing them to fend for themselves more often than not.
Behrman – (Late 60s-early 80s, male) An aged painter who lives underneath the apartment of the girls. A drunk with a hidden past, though a kind heart buried beneath his layers of pain and callous. He truly cares about the girls and tries to help keep them safe as best he can without getting too involved.
Medic – (Mid 20s, male or female)
*Note: Lea and Teen Lea could be played by the same actress, depending on the situation.
