Saintsbone

Location: New Orleans, LA

Type: Theater

Saintsbone, Independent Immersive Theater.

Saintsbone is an interactive theater experience that will take place in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Guests will solve puzzles, interact with ghosts and potentially save the world. Interactions with guests will be partially scripted but will also demand a keen improvisational spirit and quick thinking.

“The Saintsbone society has long protected the living in New Orleans. The last surviving member, Winifred DeLaporte, has been found dead. You are now Saintsbone, the only thing stopping the spirit world from opening up for good and merging with the world of the living. Explore the French Quarter, meet ghosts, solve puzzles, and save us all from chaos.. or embrace it“

Roles:
Baroness: +40. Female. Person of color or white. Ghost of the Baroness de Pontalba who was shot six times by her father-in-law and survived. Divorced in the 1800s when it was unthinkable. A leader. Scatterbrained. Misses small pleasures. Recounts vengeances she has taken on men who wronged her, such as an architect who tried to screw her over financially by assuming she knew nothing. Co-founded a secret society with Marie Laveau and others a la Watchmen.

Delphine: 20s-80s. Female. White. Speaks like words are golden ooze. Gives Cruella Devil a run for her money. Ghost of the notorious serial killer Madame LaLaurie. Revels in her old experiments. Hatches a scheme to undo the work of the secret society responsible for banning her and ghosts like her from the world of the living. Fights to return permanently to the world of the living so that she may continue her much relished torments.

Jax : 20s-80s. Any gender. Queer. Person of color or white. Altruistic. Paranoid. Ex-opium addict. Has an inordinate number of friends who are witches. Jax allies with the secret society because Jax is unhappy with their afterlife and wants to take this opportunity to change it…by opting to haunt Frenchman Street forever, rather than Bourbon Street. Ghost behind the legend of “The Sultan” who was gruesomely murdered in a giant party in the French Quarter.

Marie Laveau: 20s-80s. Female. Person of color. Voodoo Queen. Does not F around. Co-Founded a secret society to protect New Orleans from malevolent spirits. This manifestation of Marie Laveau does not practice voodoo during the show; rather, she orchestrates the synthesis of five different kinds of magic (including voodoo elements) to spark an immensely powerful force.

Moe/Winifred: 20s-80s. Any gender. Doublecast role. Moe is a frumpy, preferably tattooed, phasmophobic estate lawyer who begins the experience. Winifred is no BS, observant, human-turned-reaper who helps decide the fate of spirits at the show’s close.

Wansley: 20s-80s. Masculine of center. Person of color. Ghost of the dread pirate Thomas J. Wansley. Intensely resentful of pirate Jean Lafitte for stealing his glory. Easily bribed. Really enjoys alcohol. Allies with Delphine because he craves infamy; Wansley tends to feel sympathy for whoever “the pirate” is in a situation. Ideally can sing but not necessary.
