Casting for the role of Ruth. Ruth Reed is a mother and wife in middle-class America. She loves her family and her job. One thing she can’t seem to get right though is her relationship with her daughter. Ruth struggles with alcoholism and always missing the big picture, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t try to see it. In this movie, she has to take a step back from her pride to help her daughter who, without her realizing it, her mental health is spiraling out of control.
The Story: Kaycee Reed and her mother, Ruth Reed, sit down to have a normal dinner including their usual relentless bickering, only this time, Kaycee is forced to reveal her attempted suicide to her mother in the hopes this time she might hear her cry for help.
