We are casting the following roles:

Actor 1 (Curly McLain): The charismatic and confident cowboy who serves as the male lead. Curly is charming, good-natured, and deeply in love with Laurey. He is the quintessential cowboy hero, known for his charm and optimism.

Actor 2 (Laurey Williams): The female lead, Laurey is an independent and strong-willed farm girl. Despite her initial resistance, she is romantically torn between Curly and Jud. Laurey is a central character, and her choices drive much of the plot.

Actor 3 (Jud Fry / Ali Hakim): JUD: The brooding and mysterious farmhand who becomes infatuated with Laurey. Jud is a complex character, struggling with feelings of isolation and longing. His presence adds a layer of tension and darkness to the story. ALI HAKIM: A traveling peddler known for his wit and charm. Ali Hakim is a humorous character who flirts with Ado Annie but is reluctant to commit to a serious relationship.

Actor 4 (Ado Annie Carnes): A vivacious and flirtatious young woman who is romantically involved with both Will Parker and Ali Hakim. Ado Annie’s romantic entanglements and comedic personality make her a memorable and entertaining character.

Actor 5 (Will Parker): A good-natured and somewhat naive cowboy who is deeply in love with Ado Annie. Will’s energetic and optimistic nature contrasts with the more complex relationships around him.

Actor 6 (Aunt Eller Murphy): The matriarch of the community and Laurey’s aunt. Eller is a wise and strong woman who provides guidance and a sense of stability to those around her.

Actor 7 (Old Man Carnes): Ado Annie’s father, he is a protective and somewhat stern figure. Old Man Carnes is concerned about his daughter’s romantic choices and plays a role in the unfolding events.

We are also looking for an accompanist for the production. If you are interested, please email magda@merakientertainment.org.
