Auditions in Kentucky for “Annie” Musical

Stage Right in Newport Kentucky will be holding auditions for “Annie.”

Stage Right Musical Theatre Company announced auditions for their upcoming semi-professional production, “Annie the Musical,” scheduled to run from January 26 to February 4 at the Williamstown Performing Arts Center.

All roles are available, with evening rehearsals for kids beginning on December 17 and adult roles starting on January 3. They are seeking actors aged 8 and older.

Set against the backdrop of 1930s New York City, “Annie” tells the heartwarming story of a charming redhead who, dropped on the doorstep of an orphanage, dreams of finding her true parents. When billionaire Oliver Warbucks invites Annie to join him for Christmas, unexpected adventures ensue, including befriending President Franklin D Roosevelt and foiling the plans of the orphanage owner, Miss Hannigan.

Auditions are scheduled as follows:

Kids-Only Auditions: December 8, 5:30-9:00 PM at First Love Community Fellowship
All-Auditions: December 9, 12:00-5:00 PM at First Love Community Fellowship
All-Auditions: December 10, 3:00-6:00 PM at NKU, 100 Louie B Nunn Drive, Newport, KY
To audition, prepare two contrasting songs in the style of the show (selections from the show are accepted) no more than 32 bars. A brief dance audition and cold readings will follow the music audition. Bring a recent headshot, resume, and sheet music for your audition. Roles available include Annie (age 10-12), Oliver Warbucks (presenting age 40-55), Miss Hannigan (presenting age 30-45), Grace Farrell (presenting age 20-35), Rooster (presenting age 25-35), Lily (presenting age 20-30), Roosevelt (presenting age 40-60), Orphans (ages 8-16), and Ensemble (Servants, Hooverville, Bert Healy Radio Show, NYC Citizens) (ages 16+).

This semi-professional production offers compensation based on previous professional credits and experience. It provides an opportunity for less experienced performers to work in a professional environment before entering a full professional theater experience.
