Lord of the Flies” is a classic novel written by William Golding, published in 1954. Set against the backdrop of a deserted island, the story revolves around a group of British boys stranded after a plane crash. As they attempt to establish order and survive, their civilized behavior unravels, and they descend into chaos and brutality. Golding’s masterful narrative explores the inherent human capacity for both good and evil, delving into themes of civilization, the loss of innocence, and the dark impulses that can emerge when societal constraints are stripped away. “Lord of the Flies” remains a thought-provoking and enduring work, examining the fragility of human nature and the eternal struggle between civilization and primal instincts.
