Well, if you live in the Memphis, TN area, here is a chance to put your dance ability to work as part of the Memphis Grizzlies Grannies & Grandpas cheer squad.
Actually, the Memphis Grizzlies are holding auditions for almost all ages for their different cheer squads and promo teams, such as the Grizzlies Blue Crew (Kids) and their cheerleaders the Grizz Girls.
The NBA Grizzlies Grannies and Grandpas Squad brings a unique blend of experience, wisdom, and enthusiasm to the court. Comprised of seasoned individuals with a passion for basketball, this squad embodies the spirit of resilience and lifelong dedication to the game. From halftime performances to community events, they captivate audiences with their timeless charm and infectious energy, proving that age is no barrier to showcasing love for the sport.

Grannies & Grandpas
Join the Grizzlies Grannies and Grandpas from the 2023/24 Season and learn the audition choreography early.
- Males and Females Ages: 50+
- Dance Resume
- 8×10 headshot (not to be returned to the talent)
- Must be able to attend rehearsals, games & promotional appearances
- Must have a pleasant disposition and ability to share the spotlight with others
- Dancers do not have to be grandparents
- Dancers do not have to be retired
- A level of physicality is required for 2–3-hour rehearsals and to execute choreography at performances
Grannies & Grandpas Open Audition
Date: Sunday, July 14
Registration: 8 – 9 AM
Auditions: 9 AM – 12 PM
Location: Ford Built Tough Training Facility at FedExForum
If you are not sure what you will be required to perform or even do at the open auditions, you are in luck as the Grizzlies are also offering audition classes prior to the actual open auditions that are designed to help you learn some routines and prepare you for the actual audition event. The auditions are free but if you choose to enroll in the pre audition classes, there is a small participation fee of 20 bucks.
Pre-Audition Classes:
Dates: Sundays: June 16, 23, 30, and July 7
Registration: 2 – 3 PM
Class session: 3 – 4:30 PM
Location: “Soundstage” – 3637 Park Ave, Memphis, TN 38111
Price: $20 for each class.
Rehearsals are typically Sunday afternoons or Monday evenings and are mandatory for performance
Call time for games is 3 hours before tip-off. Typically, 4 PM
This is a part time paid position.
