About the show:
“The Dining Room,” a comedy penned by A.R. Gurney.  The play is a comedy of manners, set in a single dining room where 18 scenes from different households overlap and intertwine.  The story unfolds within the dining room of a typical affluent American household, now somewhat neglected. Once a vibrant hub of family life, the room witnessed daily breakfasts, dinners, gatherings, and numerous special events.

Structured as a series of vignette-style scenes, the play features the six actors alternating roles, portraying various characters—some humorous, some poignant, and others reflective. Each vignette introduces a fresh set of characters and occurrences, collectively painting a comprehensive picture of the diminishing upper-middle-class “WASP” culture (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants).
