Darkroom509 Casting Call – Central Washington Indie Anthology Seeks Local Talent
Central Washington-based indie film collective DARKROOM509 is casting actors for its upcoming short film anthology, a three-part project showcasing diverse genres and storytelling styles. Each segment will be written and directed by one of the company’s three founders, all aiming to push the boundaries of independent filmmaking.
The production is seeking actors from the Seattle, Ellensburg, and Yakima areas for this non-union, unpaid opportunity. While compensation is not monetary, food, accommodations, and footage for acting reels will be provided. The project will shoot over five weekends from late August through late September 2025, with shooting locations spread across Central Washington.
Casting Details:
Auditions will be held virtually between July 14 and August 1, weekday evenings only (no Fridays).
Actors must be 18+, with some roles calling for actors up to age 60.
Some roles require stunts, special effects makeup, emotional scenes, and weapon handling.
Logline:
In a world ravaged by a genetic apocalypse, a young woman must survive a brutal trial to prove her worth and challenge her community’s deep-rooted fears of nature’s rebirth.
Featured Roles:
Aslan (Lead, Female, 20–27): A fierce yet compassionate warrior, preferred Indigenous descent. Present in all shoot days (10 total).
Erikson (Male, 20–27): A hardened soldier with hidden emotional layers. Appears 7 days.
Sam (Male, 18–23): Innocent and eager for acceptance; appears 6 days.
Elders (3 roles, Male, 40–60): Powerful authority figures with conflicting motives. Each works one weekend (3 days).
Albus (Male, 40–50): Aslan’s late father, a kind but fearsome Hunter. Appears 2 days and in flashback photography.
